Family owned and operated
In 1982, Paul Mueller joined the thriving operating and consulting company Mueller Engineering Corp. that his father Joseph P Mueller founded in 1957. Mueller Engineering operated over 100 wells and had 20 full time employees.

Paul Mueller of Mueller Exploration, Inc has 40 plus years of operational experience from the cradle to the grave in a well's life cycle. Mueller Exploration, Inc (MEI) operates wells in which Mueller has a working interest and we also operate wells for others on a contract basis, with operations all over the state of Texas. Here at Mueller Exploration, we believe that no two wells are the same. We offer comprehensive operating services tailored to the needs of each producing well. With our experienced team of field operators and in house consultants, we take pride in our ability to maximize production output while prioritizing efficiency.
For non-operators who are starting up new companies we offer the ability for them to prefund the drilling and completion of the well, while allowing service companies to invoice MEI for their work.

This speeds up the timeline to get their first well drilled and completed while they set up their P-5 (operatorship) with the Texas RRC, get their MSA's out, and credit established with the needed service companies for future wells.
OUR EXPERTISE
MEI can handle the leasing of the prospective acreage, getting the title opinion, setting up the JOA's, assisting with the participation agreements, preparing the AFE for the drilling and completion, staking, drilling, completion, tie in of the production equipment, hiring of the pumper, oversight of the daily production, filing of the monthly RRC reports, handling the Joint interest billings, payment of the monthly operating expenses and distribution of the revenues to the royalty and working interest owners.
MEI has onsite drilling experience with both day rate, footage, and turnkey situations, along the Texas and Louisiana Gulf Coast and the entire state of Texas, from 1,200’ to 23,600’ including vertical and horizontal HT/HP wells, with water base and oil base mud systems, and in the Mid-Continent (Oklahoma, Colorado, New Mexico and West Virginia) with water base, air and foam systems, including vertical and horizontal wells.
Our sister company Mueller Energy Consulting (MEC) currently performs services for over 10 oil and gas companies working in Texas, New Mexico, and Louisiana with references available upon request.
Operating Services
PRODUCTION EQUIPMENT
We customize production equipment to fit the output needs of each well, effectively minimizing unnecessary spending on the front end as well as decreasing the cost of maintenance throughout the life of the well. MEI hires experienced local contract operators and utilizes Zedi/Emmerson and I-Well production reporting systems to stay on top of the well’s production allowing us to maximize each well’s potential.
ARTIFICIAL LIFT SOLUTIONS
Knowing when and what type of artificial lift system to apply is absolutely crucial. We believe in disturbing the formation as little as possible in order to prolong consistent production to effectively maximize output. MEI has the experience to determine which lift system is right for each application whether that be rod pump, jet pump, ESP, gas lift or hydraulic.
RRC REPORTING
On top of tracking and reporting production to working interest owners, MEI handles all RRC reporting both monthly and annually depending on the well's requirements. Worrying about missing deadlines and risking the status of your P-5 is no longer an issue when utilizing MEI's contract operating services.
